Zero to Three is sponsoring a webinar on May 23 at 1 pm CDT about the effects of the opioid use crisis on young children--the impacts of parents' substance abuse disorder on their unborn and very young children.  It will include some ideas for professionals who work with young children and families to engage and support families affected by drugs.  For more information and to register, here's the link.

IFLS is also hosting a webinar (co-sponsored by several systems in Wisconsin) on June 7 with Dr. Steve Albrecht about how to handle situations with patrons who are under the influence of substances ranging from alcohol to meth to opiates.  Feeling prepared to deal with challenging behavior from people of any age helps create a safe and welcoming environment for children, so I encourage you to consider attending that one, too!  It will be recorded, too, since I know many of you are ramping up for summer excitement that week.
