Thanks to Valerie from Ladysmith for this great idea/guest post!
For our Earth Day
storytime, I wanted our craft to be something that we could make reusing
materials we already had at the library. We have many DVD cases that can't be
used for circulation because they have holes in the sides. We also have lots of
felt pieces and scraps. Together with some scrap paper for a cover, we made
Travel Felt Kits.

I did use the die cut machine in Eau Claire to cut out small
circles and hearts, but the rest of the shapes were cut by the kids and their
adults. The kids loved them! They were matching shapes and making up
stories. I even had a mom tell me that her son slept with his for the next
week! Because they worked out so nicely, our July Make and Take is going to be
create your own travel game, using up some more of those DVD cases.
