Welcome!

Welcome to this latest attempt to connect librarians from west-central Wisconsin with each other! Please send in content (booklists, ideas, photos, etc.), and comment on posts so we can help each other. If you were using feedmyinbox to get new posts sent to you before, you'll need to switch to another service (blogtrottr works like feedmyinbox, googlereader is a good blog-reader to try).

Punch-box Fortunes

I'm a tactile person, so imagine my delight the other day when I was in the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library in Eau Claire and I found this cool-as-can-be punch-box book fortune:

Behind these tantalizing little tissue-paper circles are little fortunes, like:

  • You will read a fractured fairy tale or fairy tale retelling.
  • You will see a movie based on a book.
  • You will use Freading or Freegal from the library’s website to download an audiobook or music for
    free.
  • You will choose a bookwith an orange cover.
Here's what Jessi, the mastermind behind this ultra-cool project says:

I never throw anything away and everyone here knows it, so Jill has been saving me her cupcake holders from her book club meetings for a while.  The punched out tissue paper is easy and cheap enough to replace, and it's been getting good usage - I just replaced all the punched out holes yesterday.

*2/27/17:  I'm sorry to say that I no longer have access to the PDF or other information about this great idea, but I bet you can figure something out! *
