Welcome to this latest attempt to connect librarians from west-central Wisconsin with each other! Please send in content (booklists, ideas, photos, etc.), and comment on posts so we can help each other. If you were using feedmyinbox to get new posts sent to you before, you'll need to switch to another service (blogtrottr works like feedmyinbox, googlereader is a good blog-reader to try).

Ringing in the New Year with Style

(CD cover)

Colleen and Karen from the Chippewa Falls Public Library collaborated with the Heyde Center for the Arts in Chippewa Falls for a fabulous New Year's Eve Dance Party!  They played music, used instruments and parachutes (some from the IFLS kits), danced, sang, and made art projects.  They had at least 75 kids, and lost count of the total number of people somewhere around 110!

Colleen said that Carole Peterson music was an especially big hit at this dance party--that's a new musician for me to explore.  I'm looking forward to checking some of her recordings out.

What a great collaboration!  The Heyde Center staff has some great publicity contacts and a really fun, big space for a dance party.  The youth services librarians have the know-how for creating a really great event for preschoolers and their parents.  Take a peek at the awesome news coverage!
