WisDOT Gets in on Reading Love

This got lost in the shuffle, but it's not to too late to promote this Wisconsin Department of Transportation Reading Challenge.  Kids up to age 10 are encouraged to read books that include mention of various forms of transportation (bicycles, cars, boats, buses, trains, etc) and fill in a reading ticket.

I'd love to see the WisDOT look to Wisconsin librarians for ideas about their reading initiative, but no matter what, it is good to have more players in the field, inviting kids to read about things that interest them.  And there certainly are plenty of transportation-hungry readers out there.  It might be fun to pull a display of some of your favorite transportation-related books to encourage kids who are into that topic to participate.
