Apps Gone Free

Thanks to Colleen at Chippewa Falls for this guest post!

Libraries that have iPads may benefit from downloading the app from the iTunes store called AppsGone Free. Every day a few designated apps are free to download. Read the ratings & reviews to determine whether the apps are a good addition to your libraries' iPads.

For example the other day, the Chippewa Falls youth dept downloaded an app called Scrap It HD. With it they could host a digital scrapbooking session. Maybe tell patrons to bring 3 pictures in each and upload  those photos to a few ipads with that app on them. Patrons can add borders, text, icons, and more and then upload their creations to a social networking software of their choosing. It could be a fun & creative way to use current technology to connect with patrons. AppsGone Free. is a great way to download apps that normally cost anywhere from 99 cents to $10.00. Check-it-out!

Here is a photo CFPL created in Scrap It. It has all kinds of possible uses-promoting books, etc.
