Welcome!

Welcome to this latest attempt to connect librarians from west-central Wisconsin with each other! Please send in content (booklists, ideas, photos, etc.), and comment on posts so we can help each other. If you were using feedmyinbox to get new posts sent to you before, you'll need to switch to another service (blogtrottr works like feedmyinbox, googlereader is a good blog-reader to try).

Hold On To Your Tighty-Whities!

Captain Underpants and the Revolting Revenge of the Radioactive Robo-BoxersThe latest Captain Underpants book is coming out today!  Are you a fan?  More importantly, are the kids in your community fans?  Many libraries around the country are capitalizing on the excitement generated by the book and are planning some pretty silly parties.  Scholastic has a teacher's guide for using Captain Underpants in the classroom, and some of the ideas would translate well to a library party, and the general Scholastic page about Captain Underpants is worth a gander, too.  Are you doing something?

Thanks to an alert from the ALSC listserv, I heard about a great piece on NPR's Morning Edition today, which included interviews with Dav Pilkey, Intellectual Freedom advocate Pat Scales, and some enthusiastic 2nd grade boys.  Definitely worth a listen
