Welcome to this latest attempt to connect librarians from west-central Wisconsin with each other! Please send in content (booklists, ideas, photos, etc.), and comment on posts so we can help each other. If you were using feedmyinbox to get new posts sent to you before, you'll need to switch to another service (blogtrottr works like feedmyinbox, googlereader is a good blog-reader to try).

Make the Teens' Top Ten Part of Your Summer Reading Program

I got a good reminder from the Young Adult Library Services Association (of ALA) the other day. I know some teens who would love to be encouraged to participate in this!

As your Summer Reading Program kicks off, be sure to include YALSA's Teens' Top Ten. You can download the 26 nominated titles (PDF) from the YALSA website, as well as the Teens' Top Ten toolkit (Word doc), which includes programming ideas, customizable bookmarks, and other tools to help you promote the Teens' Top Ten to teens at your library.

Be sure to mark your calendars for voting this year. Voting opens Aug. 23 and ends Sept. 17. Last year, more than 11,000 teens voted for their favorite books.
